James Ricklef's new “Tarot of the Masters” deck is inspired by classic works of art from the fifteenth to nineteenth centuries, pieces by old masters, such as Rubens, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Bouguereau. In preparation for creating this deck, the artist perused hundreds of paintings and statues in order to find ones that would suit the seventy-eight cards of the Tarot. The classic works of art that he found then served as the inspiration for his own illustrations for the cards.
