AE Waite and the Golden Dawn

Arthur Edward Waite in the early 1880s

I am speaking with Mary Greer at the 100th anniversary of the Rider Waite Deck in London on the 5th December 2009. Kim Arnold asked me months ago if I knew anyone who could speak at the event, so I was a bit surprised to find myself booked. While the tarot world is good at knowing about decks, it does not do so well at understanding the context of a deck.  I am finding it fascinating digging into the history and background of the Golden Dawn and its protagonists, particularly Waite, who founded his own Golden Dawn Order.

I have met and spoke at other events with Mary, and  it will be interesting to see what comes out of the day. I am looking forward to it.
